Aberdeen Global Flowcrete quick off the blocks at Aberdeen Sports Village Specialist flooring manufacturer Flowcrete has been rapid on the blocks where they provided a system for ultra-fast drying of a new state of the art sports facility in north-east Scotland. Based on the site of the former Chris Anderson Stadium, Aberdeen Sports Village is a £ 28 million development by partnering agencies Aberdeen City Council, the University of Aberdeen and sportscotland. The complex includes a football field full-size inside, the indoor athletics, squash courts, gymnasium and exercise rooms, and a science center's high-tech sport, more dining and conference space. 3000 square meters and seamless Flowfast Quartz 1800m concave skirting were installed throughout the building, including the main entrance, canteen, changing rooms and common areas by Flowcrete approved contractor, industrial floor treatments (IFT) East Kilbride. The ground fast drying - that is willing to walk two hours after application - has been specially blended to a shade of granite, as requested by the project architects, and Hall Reiach Edinburgh. With over 600 square meters Isocrete K-heavy screed have been installed by IFT in the area of the main entrance and a canteen. Flowfast is to transform the sector of industrial and commercial land in Scotland. Last year, Flowcrete and IFT were jointly awarded the Project of the Year Award from the resin industry trade body Ferfer for their work at the University of Glasgow Small Animal Hospital, where Flowfast was also clarified. At Aberdeen Sports Village and the speed of application, Flowfast was chosen because it could be applied directly to the concrete base without the need of an impermeable membrane, smoothing compounds or adhesives. It is also possible for the finished floor to be beveled concrete bench in the spectator area, creating a perfect finish and elegant. James Grimley, architect of the draft Reiach and Hall said: "We initially specified vinyl flooring for this project but we have seen soil resin used in a neighboring building and the client loved the look of the product.
