I have some questions about these 3 funds:
Alpine Total Dynamic Dividend Fund
Desktop Keeley Small Cap Value
Kinetics Internet Fund

I found these promising, at least according to Business Week.

1.What is the category (focus) of each fund? (Eg money market, bonds, stock funds, health care, high tech, etc.)

2.Indicate the overall strategy of the fund (s) (eg growth, income, aggressive growth, etc.)

You do your research back ..... First, you must have an asset allocation "and then you look for funds to meet the allocations.
