Brazilian Bonds

Native country of Brazil, Brazilian Shorthair is a feline Shorthair. The cat is still in relatively initial stages of a race official and domestic cat is still not officially recognized by many registration bodies of cat fancies. In fact, its discovery began as recently as the mid-eighties when the representatives of Brazil Cat Federation realized the need for a cat native to Brazil. They began comparing and surveying alley cats across the country and found that they were remarkably similar in appearance and features. Subsequently, the preservation and maintenance of Brazilian Shorthair breed began in earnest.

felines medium sized Brazilian Shorthair strong physical built. Their body is thin in comparison with short-haired cats of Europe and North America. Chef is a little long with almond eyes slightly slanting and medium enterprises are the ears rounded at the tip. The fur is short and lying on the body. A variety of colors and patterns are documented. The legs are well muscled. The tail is moderately long and tapering to a point.

The biggest threat facing the Brazilian Shorthair cats is the pollution of their gene pool. There is widespread miscegenation and all purebred cats are very rare. Even if the authorities have encouraged people to come up with cats that are closest to the truth of the genome race, there remains a shortage in the number of Brazilian Shorthair breed. Therefore few breeding programs dedicated to these cats are enough for now.

Brazilian Shorthairs have a very pleasant temperament. They are easy going and love the cats that do not take time in establishing emotional bonds with their man. They are good with children and other pets and love being with people. Brazilian Shorthairs are known for their ability to develop loving relationships with all members of the family, remaining attached to all peoples at all.
