DZZ Gold ETF - How to Short Gold by Going Long Gold ETFs DZZ Double Gold ETN is a relatively new way to profit from the price action of gold. The fund plans to double gold ETF GLD movement or the price of gold does, providing more opportunities in the gold sector. I just recently started to use DZZ ETN for trading and have found it very useful, as you see in the tables below.
Some advantages of the New DZZ Gold ETN
The fact that it is a leveraged fund provides more opportunity for small investors because they can have double the amount of gold exposure without having to use margin, pay interest, and to open a margin account. While trading with leverage is a two sided knife, if done properly, potential higher annual profits can be obtained.
Another reason gold ETN are becoming popular because they allow gold traders and investors to trade both sides of the industry's gold in their 401K, IRA and Canadian their RRSP accounts. Being able to enjoy the small side in terms of bear market, can double your annual return on investment.
Now let's look at our current maps and see how this fund can be used.
Gold Bugs Index - Monthly Distribution Chart Gold
As you can see on the monthly pass, the Gold BUGS Index collapses under our trend line support. We could enter into a consolidation phase much more important or perhaps even a bear market. It is not really important, we can take advantage of both sides of gold (long and short). The shorter side has more potential in my opinion, but most traders prefer to trade the long side that is what everyone learns first and feels comfortable.
Gold Miner Stocks Index - Weekly Chart Breakdown
The gold miner stocks index has given us a breakdown, as well as show a short play is not the struggle against the current trend in the short term for gold. It is now testing support, which means that traders should tighten their stops short of blocking more profits when gold decides to bounce.
Gold Bugs vs Gold Price - Weekly Gold Card to Support
gold stocks are testing a support level, as they have decreased in value relative to gold prices, showing that many investors were afraid of their positions and thus forcing the gold stocks down more than normal.
DZZ Gold ETN - How to Short Gold by Going Long
Recently, we had a buy signal for the DZZ gold ETN, which has provided an excellent setup low risk at the end of July. Currently, trade is up over 28% in just 3 weeks. While we wait for the same type of setup for going short, there is an important point to note. When trading GLD or any other stock, index or futures contract on the long side, it is important not to enter a facility with a steep vertical support trend line, because it does not usually continue for some time. But trading on the short side like this trade DZZ, trend lines can be stronger, as prices generally drop much faster, pushing our Short Gold ETN fund higher.
