Hedge Fund Performance Fee

Hedge Fund Performance FeeHow hedge funds will take performance fees on unrealized gains?

Say a hedge fund has $ 1,000,000 in unrealized gains at the end of the year and the fund fees of 20%, how should they take?

I think they mark-to-market based on pre-established forms, hopefully calculated by the administrator of hedge funds, not hedge fund itself. This becomes difficult if the assets are illiquid in a thinly traded market. Hedge funds usually spells all of this within their investment mandate, investors ppm then how this will be done from the outset.

Here is my article on the rights of hedge funds: http://richard-wilson.blogspot.com/2008/ ...
