Hedge Fund Performance Fee How hedge funds will take performance fees on unrealized gains? Say a hedge fund has $ 1,000,000 in unrealized gains at the end of the year and the fund fees of 20%, how should they take? I think they mark-to-market based on pre-established forms, hopefully calculated by the administrator of hedge funds, not hedge fund itself. This becomes difficult if the assets are illiquid in a thinly traded market. Hedge funds usually spells all of this within their investment mandate, investors ppm then how this will be done from the outset. They are likely to affect $ 200K from the client Accts themselves.
